Adventure-loving house painter Mr. Popper (Jim Carrey) contends with the problem of having too many penguins in director Mark S. Water’s adaptation of Richard Atwater’s beloved children’s book. The stiry inadvertently revolves around Mr. Popper, a house painter whose real passion is exploring the Arctic, although he has no means to do such thing. After writing letters to the genuine Arctic explorers, he was surprised when one of them intentionally sent him a real penguin. Meanwhile, when another female penguin arrived from the zoo, they mated and multiplied and with just a short span of time, Popper now has 12 penguins on his hands. Now, in order to make use out of these pets, he formed a stage act with the penguins subbed “Popper’s Performing Penguins” that goes on tour and features the animals causing mayhem at every stop.
