The Last Airbender (2010)
The Last Airbender (2010) is the live action film based on the popular Nickelodeon animated TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender. This is the first movie of the planned Avatar trilogy film planned by Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures. The film stars Noah Ringer playing as Aang, a reluctant hero who prefers adventure over his job as the Avatar. Aang and his friends, Katara (Nicola Peltz) and Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), journey to the North Pole to find a Waterbending master to teach Aang and Katara the secrets of the craft. At the same time, Fire Lord Ozai (Cliff Curtis), the current Fire Lord of the Fire Nation, is waging a seemingly endless war against the Earth Kingdom, the Water Tribes, and the already vanquished Air Nomads.
The movie also stars Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, and Dev Patel (as Prince Zuko the primary antagonist of the movie). Screenplay by M. Night Shyamalan.
This movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on July 2, 2010.
