They're cute, they are oh so cuddly and their skin is all blue…They are the smurfs!

The Smurfs, as an upcoming 3D animated film, will surely be a great treat to all families this year because aside from the fact that the kids will love it, parents will also have a great time bonding with the kids when they watch the film. Set for release on the 29th of July 2011, The Smurfs talks about the tiny bluish characters that accidentally arrived here on Earth and forcibly lived with some human beings.

The Earth is composed of two worlds or two dimensions: the human world were normal people thrive, and the magical world where the smurfs live. When the wicked and evil wizard known as Gargamel chased the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they accidentally tumbled from their magical world and fell into ours. Where did they land? Right in the middle of the Central Park. With the height of about three apples filed up, the Smurfs were stuck in the Big Apple and not knowing how to get back to their place. The Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down on Earth and alarm other humans of their existence. So before that happens, they must locate the portal where they passed and the portal which will take them back into their real world, the world where they truly belong.

The film is for the entire family to watch and it is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 29, 2011. filled with comedy and jam-packed with tremendous humor, the script of the film was written by J. David Stem, David n. Weissa and Audrey Wells and it is being directed by the acclaimed director, Raja Gosnell. The movie is under the distribution of Columbia Pictures and it stars and features the voices of Sofia Vergara, Hank Azaria, Jonathan Winters, George Lopez, Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, and Jayma Mays.
