Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 Takes #1 Spot of Weekend Box Office

I thought Sucker Punch will be the one who will dominate the weekend box office for the March 25-27 period but I was wrong. The family friendly sequel Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules takes an over $24 million to be the lead movie to be on the first rank of my list below. Meanwhile, the original 3D film by Zack Snyder takes only $19 million which is quite surprising.
Here's the complete list of top 10 movies that made up this weekend box office.
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules - $24,400,000
- Sucker Punch - $19,015,000
- Limitless - $15,225,000
- The Lincoln Lawyer - $11,000,000
- Rango - $9,800,000
- Battle: Los Angeles - $7,600,000
- Paul - $7,506,050
- Red Riding Hood - $4,390,000
- The Adjustment Bureau - $4,244,520
- Mars Needs Moms - $2,186,000
Next week, as April takes its first step in 2011, a lot of film will be showing that will surely rumble the list. That includes Jake Gyllenhaal's Source Code, the animated live action film HOP and the horror film Insidious.
